Technical Requirements

We think you’re going to love working from home with BIM Corp. Our BIM Corp At Home program is a great place to avoid the commute and work in a safe and comfortable environment – your own home! We do have a few steps and minimum requirements like passing our Initial Systems Assessment (fancy term for checking if “your computer set up is compatible with ours”). We’ll go through the steps together and you’ll be on your way to finding out how compatible your computer is with our systems in no time…and if we find that you’re not compatible at any time during the tech checks, we are here to help you find ways to become compatible with our system. There may be a chance that additional hardware is required after you go through these tech checks – if that’s the case, please do know that you’ll be responsible for obtaining the equipment.

USB Wired Headsets

Let's continue to set you up for success. Headsets are a big part of our workday here at BIM Corp. so we want to make sure that you’re either purchasing or acquiring a USB wired headset that works in Windows. Our goal is to make sure it works with our systems so we can support any troubleshooting that may come up - saving you time and money. Getting ready to acquire the headset? Please consider:

  • Comfort – you may be wearing it all day, so think of your comfort
  • Mute Button – while our system has a mute button – it’s way easier for you if the headset has the mute button built in
  • Volume Control Buttons – while our system has volume control – you’ll like it more if the headset has the volume control buttons built in

Just remember, we only provide support for wired USB headsets – if you choose to purchase a Bluetooth headset or non-supported device, you’re on your own when it comes to troubleshooting and the time you spend on troubleshooting isn’t something you’ll be compensated for.

USB SSD Drive

Hired? Your recruiter will connect with you to talk about what your program requirements are for the SSD drive. Reminder– it’s important to not use your SSD until you're working with a BIM Corp. team member during the Tech Check-in, we’ll walk through using it together. We want to be sure you set up your equipment the right way.

Stability

Ever been on a call with someone and their internet goes down? Because we’re delivering amazing service on
every interaction, your internet service must be 99.99% stable. We need to minimize any form of network disruption,
slow service and network connectivity loss. Here are the requirements for network latency and packet loss:

  • Network Latency: A reliable internet connection is critical, so we want to ensure that your network has
minimal latency, which is the time it takes for a request to provide a response on a network. 120ms when
testing to our server is the maximum allowable latency, but we would hope that your network is even faster.
  • Packet Loss: Maximum allowable packet loss is 0%. If any packages (a bit of information) are
lost across your network before they reach your destination, you will have noticeably poor performance.
